Marissa Cashill
Marissa Cashill is a picture editor and photo journalist for the Yorkshire post, recently she delivered a talk explaining the way the life of a press photographer works. Throughout the talk Marissa expressed the importance of being multi talented and some knowledge of moving image, this is useful to know as it can suggest that have various talents within photography can help bring in a range of clients.
Although since starting my photography degree, I wouldn’t really say I’ve had a particular interest for press photography, however the talk shown the importance of capturing the moment and being able to work effectively at high speeds.
Overall, the talk was very interesting, specifically some of the images that were set up and carefully constructed as this was produced in a similar method to which I have been using throughout my project for my cinematic lighting set-ups, therefore it was reassuring to see how I could potentially be commissioned for work within my distinct style.
